Inclusion is a Superpower

Vic Goddard

Being inclusive is, ironically, a divisive issue across education. The critics often talk about it in terms of the ‘soft bigotry of low expectations’ or feel it is about bean bags and group work.  Whilst the advocates can often sit giddily on their own moral high ground tutting at those that don’t match their view of how a school should be run.

The reality is that being inclusive is the most pragmatic and rewarding choice a leader/organisation can make for their school. Inclusion is our superpower and it positively impacts every child, every day whilst also sustainably connecting us to the wider community.
